TZEDAKAH BOXES
In Hebrew, the word Tzedakah literally means “Justice or righteousness”
– the Jewish concept of charity – the right, the just, the responsible way human
beings care for each other. The Hebrew language has no word for “charity”.
Tzedakah is a given, because, as a human being created in the image of G-d,
we all have the responsibility to take care of our fellow humans beings who are
in need. It is not an option, but an obligation. Not a matter of choice, but a requirement.
It is the right, the just thing to do.
