Annual gift of $500 for 5 years
As the circle of life begins, so does our Beginners level. Through a five-year commitment, donors help support WIZO's vast network of day care centers which provide enrichment for thousands of children with working parents, new immigrants and children from problematic homes. The centers offer workshops for parents and a range of services for children, including the support of psychologists, social workers, early childhood educators experts, and WIZO volunteers. More than 14,000 children, from 6 months to 4 years of age, attend 170 WIZO day care centers in Israel.
Annual gift of $1,000 for 5 years
In the most formative years of their development and personality, children receive education, enrichment and treatment in hundreds of WIZO day care centers. The center's director, social worker and psychologist team up with art and music therapists and educational counselors to offer a comprehensive individual treatment program for high-risk children. WIZO provides a solution for children with parents who work late and would otherwise be left unsupervised, through its multi-purpose day care centers, which run into the evening hours. During their stay at these centers, children receive hot meals and homework assistance. First Step donors help WIZO provide the nurturing framework so crucial to children´s development.

Yossi's Story
Yossi is five years old and wanders the streets of Haifa alone. His mother is a drug addict and his father a brutal alcoholic who beats him for sport.
Yossi rarely goes to kindergarten, can't read or write and is violent to his peers. Sadly, Yossi thinks this is the way life is meant to be.
Sponsor A Child is here to turn his world around.
WIZO cares for 15,000 children every day including many like Yossi. By meeting their emotional, educational and social needs, we aim to give the children in our care a real chance for the future. We can make a huge difference in the lives of children during their most formative years. Our existing network of Day Care Centers looks after children aged between six months and five years, six days a week.
These WIZO Centers have become secure havens for children stranded by family breakdown. Each day is built around a core of therapeutic activities, stimulating educational games and healthy social interaction. Skilled and compassionate staff using the most up-to-date techniques ensure that each child receives the very best education, attention and love.
Wherever possible, we work to revive a healthy parent-child relationship running special programs in centers for the treatment and prevention of violence in the family.
If you would like to make a difference to a child like Yossi, sponsor a child today.

Gift of Life Insurance - These are among the most innovative planned giving vehicles and suit the needs of many different donors. WIZO is designated as beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
Life insurance can be used to fund an unrestricted gift to WIZO, assuring the growth and continuity of our projects in Israel. A policy taken out during one´s lifetime will ensure the continuity and perpetual support of our beneficiary programs beyond the lifetimes of our valued donors.
WIZO can be designated as sole beneficiary of a new policy. In that case, all premium payments are tax deductible. Or an existing policy can be transferred to WIZO as sole beneficiary. At the time of the transfer, a tax deduction equal to the net cash value to the policy can be taken. All future premium payments would be tax deductible.
Because life insurance premiums are based on mortality rates, gifts of life insurance are extremely affordable for younger donors, thereby giving them the opportunity to make sizeable deferred gifts with very modest our-of-pocket expenses.
Members of this category have shown through their continued commitment to WIZO, their concern for the present and future of Israel. Donors contribute a cumulative total of:
Sapphire $ 100,000
Ruby $ 250,000
Emerald $ 500,000

As we embarked in the twenty first century, planned giving is playing an increasingly vital role In Israel's future. The staff of WIZO’s Office can work with you and your advisors to structure a gift that best fulfills your charitable goals.
You can help WIZO maintain a consistent cash flow to carry out both day-to-day commitments and long-term goals through the gift of a life insurance policy. Your support can make a difference; even the most humble gift is very much appreciated.
You can apply for a permanent life insurance policy on your life and name WIZO both owner and beneficiary of the policy. Since WIZO is a charitable organization, your annual gift of the premium payment is tax-deductible.
The proceeds of the life insurance are tax-free upon the donor's death, or when the policy matures, whichever comes first. Furthermore, the donor's estate will not owe gift or estate taxes on the amount of the claim.
The gift of life insurance can be a "win-win" proposal for both you and WIZO.
Let the light of your giving shine for generations to come.
A charitable annuity allows you to make a meaningful gift to WIZO while also providing for your future financial well-being. A gift annuity makes it possible to transfer cash, real estate, or securities such as stocks or bonds, to WIZO. In exchange, you or someone else you designate will receive fixed payments for life.

Best Assets:
All prospective donors are urged to seek the advice of a competent tax professional as to the tax consequences of this gift prior to entering into a gift annuity agreement with WIZO.
Retirement plan proceeds paid after death are subject to both income and estate taxes. If you have accumulated substantial amounts to your retirement account and you are in the highest brackets for paying income and estate taxes, those taxes can exceed 75% of the amount in the plan. These are, therefore, not ideal assets to bequeath to your heirs.
Naming WIZO as the after-death beneficiary of one or more such plans (pension, profit sharing, Keogh, IRA, 401 (k) among others, can save such taxes and greatly assist WIZO at a minimum cost to your family. You can therefore make a substantial donation with plan assets that would otherwise be used to pay income and estate taxes.
If the property you wish to donate is used directly by WIZO for its charitable purposes, then the full fair market value of the property is deductible. Gifts of property that must be sold, or are unrelated to WIZO's tax exempt purposes, may qualify for a limited charitable tax deduction.
In any event, gifts of property are not subject to a tax on the unrealized capital gain and may be used to fund a charitable remainder trust. Therefore, you shall not pay taxes over the difference between the original purchase price of the donated property and the sale price WIZO may obtain for it after the property has been duly transferred to our organization.
